Role summary

Cenfri is a not-for-profit think tank and impact-oriented development consultancy based in Cape Town and Kigali. We contribute to sustainable economic growth in emerging markets through research, data analytics, skills-building, technical assistance, facilitation and convening.

As a Job Shadow participant, you will gain first-hand exposure to the work of our research teams and develop an understanding of how research informs financial sector development across emerging markets.

During the programme, you will shadow experienced research professionals and participate in interactive workshops designed to build practical research skills. You will learn about desktop-based research methodologies, data collection and analysis, copy-editing, and how to structure complex information into clear, accurate and user-friendly formats. You will also gain insight into report writing, critical analysis, and how research findings contribute to project outcomes and evidence-based decision-making.

Requirements

• Currently completing an Honours or Master’s degree in economics or a related field (i.e. finance, development, statistics, politics, data science or law)
