Accountant

Job Description: Shoprite Holdings is seeking a dedicated and confident Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, ZA. As an entry-level Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, and various accounting tasks. This role will provide you with valuable experience in the field of accounting and finance.

Responsibilities: - Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries - Prepare financial reports and statements - Assist with budgeting and forecasting - Reconcile bank statements and financial data - Assist with tax preparation and compliance - Support the accounting team with ad hoc projects as needed - Utilize strategic planning skills to help improve financial processes - Adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Requirements: - 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strategic planning skills - Adaptability to change and willingness to learn - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
