Accountant

Kumba Iron Ore, located in Cape Town, Western Cape, is seeking a part-time Accountant at the Associate Level with at least 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, resourceful, possess strong presentation skills, and have exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities: 1. Prepare financial statements and reports for management. 2. Conduct month-end and year-end close processes. 3. Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve company performance. 4. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions. 5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. 6. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. 7. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and increase efficiency. 8. Participate in audits and support audit activities. 9. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. 10. Provide financial support and analysis for decision-making.

Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 2. CPA or equivalent certification preferred. 3. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience. 4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. 5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 7. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 8. Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. 9. Prior experience in the mining or natural resources industry a plus. 10. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
