Role Overview: We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records. In this role, you will be responsible for handling accounts payable and receivable, conducting regular bank reconciliations, processing payroll, and preparing routine financial reports.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in core accounting principles, excels at working with accounting software, and maintains high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Core Responsibilities
1. Financial Data Entry & Maintenance
Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process in the accounting system.
Maintain clean, organized general ledger accounts.
Ensure accurate coding of all income and expenses.
2. Accounts Payable (A/P) & Accounts Receivable (A/R)
Process vendor invoices, reconcile statements, and prepare payments in a timely manner.
Generate and send invoices to clients; track outstanding balances and follow up on collections.
Reconcile A/P and A/R sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
3. Reconciliations & Monthly Close
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Assist in the month-end closing process by gathering necessary documentation and reviewing account balances.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly.
4. Payroll & Administrative Support
Collect, review, and process payroll data or coordinate with third-party payroll providers.
Maintain secure, confidential financial files and administrative records.
Assist with basic administrative tasks and audit preparations as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 2–4+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or general accounting experience.
Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar platforms).
Spreadsheets: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (data entry, basic formulas, formatting).
Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debit/credit mechanics, and financial statements.
Preferred:
Associate degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper).
Experience with payroll software.
