Our client has a big solar/substation project in Groblershoop and is looking for a Draftsman.

Job Title: Draftsman

Location: Groblershoop, Northern Cape 

Salary: Market related CTC (On- site accommodation and transport will be provided) 

Closing date: End June 2024

As a Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in the design and development phases of the solar project. 

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and specifications.
2. Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, layouts, and plans using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other computer-aided design (CAD) software.
3. Ensure that all drawings, including Plant Layout, Geo-Survey Drawing, BOQ, Tender Drawing, and structural drawings, adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and client/project specifications.
4. Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineers, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
5. Assist in the preparation of permit applications and documentation required for project approval, incorporating necessary technical information and specifications.
6. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to obtain technical details, specifications, and project requirements.
7. Support construction phases by providing accurate drawings and responding to on-site queries and challenges as needed.
8. Maintain organized documentation and records of all drawings, revisions, and project-related documents, ensuring traceability and accessibility for project lifecycle management.

Requirements:

1. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, I.T.I. Draughtsman (Civil), 10+2th (Sci), or a related field.
2. 5+ Years of working experience as AutoCAD Draught’s man in civil structural
3. 9+ Year of working experience as Auto CAD Draught’s man in PV Solar Plant
4. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings and plans.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
7. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations for solar energy projects.
8. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
9. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
10. Knowledge of solar energy systems and components is a plus.
11. Expertise in detailing of Structural work, Layout & RC Details of Footings, Rafts, Column, Slab,
    Beam, Liquid Conveying/Retaining structures, Staircase, machine room of Buildings and similar.
