Position: Head of Delivery: Outsourced Accounting 
Location: Hybrid - Cape Town or Johannesburg (Remote work for UK-based client)

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept:

• Spearhead the establishment of cutting-edge outsourced accounting and bookkeeping services.
• Establish and nurture relationships with existing clients to promote the new outsourcing accounting services.
• Establishes accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change.
• Delivers client services including, but not limited to: onsite and remote consultation, performance of activities unique to each engagement; development and implementation of deliverables; development and delivery of training and workshop materials; maintenance of client project timelines; monthly maintenance of project budgets; and monthly client billing activities.
• Evaluates client needs related to accounting and finance processes and assesses accounting function to recommend project approaches. Contributes to the proposal development process on outsourced controller projects and other special projects in order to develop multi-focused solutions for our clients.
• Lead the implementation of all accounting processes, systems, and tools required for the department to operate efficiently.
• Hire, train, and manage a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
• Provide guidance and expertise on UK accounting standards and practices, including Corporation Tax, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Statutory Accounts, and Management Accounts.
• Collaborate closely with the UK-based client to understand their needs and preferences, adjusting service offerings accordingly

Your Credentials for This Epic Quest:

• Qualified CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or CPA with extensive knowledge of UK accounting standards and practices, including UK Corporation Tax, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Statutory Accounts, and Management Accounts.
• 3 - 5 years practical UK Accounting experience in practice - Non-negotiable.
• Proven experience in setting up and leading accounting departments (in Practice) or teams.
• Strong understanding of outsourcing accounting services and industry trends specifically in the UK territory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute operational plans effectively.
• Willingness to be hands-on and operational, especially in the initial phases of department setup.
• Strong business and financial acumen, demonstrated through a deep understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making to drive the profitability and growth of the outsourcing accounting department - in practice.
