Job Description - Part-time e-Commerce Operations Coordinator

A new business selling high end ceramic art is looking to secure the expertise of a proactive professional who can be hands-on in helping them build their niche online business and grow their online store for approximately 20 hours per week. Leverage your online marketplace experience with a proven track record (with examples) of helping clients and brands to position themselves online, build their e-Commerce presence and knowledge of retail partnerships.

Responsibilities:

Help manage and grow the online shop and brand
Intention of expanding online presence to partner with stores (brick & mortar) and in time, a gallery where these items as well as other art pieces will be displayed and sold
Work with the current web developers to launch the website and the store
Update and maintain the online store (product listings, pricing, images, etc.)
Track and manage product inventory and supplier data
Analyse sales performance and product data using Excel/Google Sheets
Help optimise product listings and improve online presentation
Assist with order processing and customer service as needed
Coordinate with suppliers or fulfillment partners
Identify areas for process improvement in store operations

Requirements

At least 3-5 years' proven track record working with small businesses and launching online brand and products in an online, sales environment
Experience with e-Commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, BigCommerce, or similar)
Understanding of payment gateways that integrate with e-Commerce platforms
Solid Excel/Google Sheets skills
Highly organised and efficient in your way of working

Familiar with online selling best practices (SEO, product photos, descriptions, pricing)
Comfortable with basic technical tasks on the website — uploading files, updating content, basic troubleshooting
Exceptional command of English- both strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Available at least 20 hours per week
Own transport essential (you will be required to meet in Llandudno and at other locations around Cape Town from time to time)
