Job Description - Part-time Email Designer

A powerful team who manage marketing and media for their clients is looking to grow with the digital savvy skills of a detail-oriented half-day Email Designer. This creative environment gives clients access to asset disposal and access to comprehensive auction information & insights through a marketing platform. The ideal candidate will be able to transform email marketing through a robust understanding of email layout, formatting and execution.

This is a part-time, office-based role located in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with a supportive and inspiring team. If you're familiar with email marketing platform such as Everlytics and Mailchimp with a good grasp of direct marketing, this might be the kind of opportunity you have been waiting. Looking for a designer with the ability to make content come alive who understands the required precision of DTP.

Key Responsibilities

Create and format email campaigns that align with brand guidelines and marketing goals, using both HTML and drag-and-drop email platforms.

Convert creative concepts and copy into well-organised, visually compelling email designs.

Proofread and test email layouts to ensure compatibility across various devices and email clients (such as Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail).

Handle and optimise image assets, including tasks such as resizing and compressing for performance.

Contribute to the design of related digital content, including banners, social media visuals, and landing pages.

Requirements

Proven experience as a DTP designer with a strong portfolio of email and digital design work
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Familiar with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp and Everlytics)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Intermediate knowledge of HTML/CSS specific to email design
A passion for quality and execution.
Mature work ethic: Get the job done and done well attitude.
Understanding of email design best practices, including mobile responsiveness and accessibility
Experience working in fast-paced agency or ecommerce environments
Knowledge of marketing automation and data-driven design
