Job Description - Part-time Tax and Accounting Support Specialist

An established and growing accounting company is looking for a capable and experienced individual to assist with
accounting and tax preparation during the busy tax season. This is a 6-month contract, working 4 hours per day, 4 days per week. Start date 1 August 2025.

The Role:

You’ll be working alongside a small team providing client-facing support in
accounting and tax services. The work includes bookkeeping, reconciliations,
report preparation, and drafting and finalising provisional and final tax
returns for both individuals and SMEs.

Responsibilities:

Client communication and correspondence regarding financial and tax matters
Bookkeeping and account reconciliations
Preparation of management accounts and financial reports
Completion and submission of individual and small business provisional and annual tax returns
Collaborate on ad-hoc accounting and compliance tasks as needed

Requirements

SARS-registered Tax Practitioner
Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Finance or related field
Member of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. SAIPA, SAICA, IAC, etc.) preferred
Familiarity with cloud-based accounting and tax software
Detail-oriented, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Experienced in SA tax compliance and small business accounting
Comfortable in a hybrid work environment
Strong communication, accuracy, and discretion
