As an HR Compliance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our global operations align with global human rights standards. Responsibilities will involve developing, implementing, and monitoring policies to safeguard human rights within our supply chain, workforce, and business practices to contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports to support our human rights standards. You will work under the direction of the Global HR Compliance Manager to collaborate with various departments and external stakeholders to promote ethical and socially responsible practices globally, while you are based in Barcelona. In this role, a typical day will include:Policy Development and Implementation:Formulate, update, and implement human rights policies and procedures in alignment with international standards. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and ethics teams to integrate human rights considerations into company policies. Training and Awareness:Monitor and research global human rights trends and regulations and provide guidance and recommendations to the HR Compliance team and other stakeholders. Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and partners on human rights principles and expectations. Foster a culture of awareness and responsibility throughout the organization. Supply Chain Assessment:Conduct human rights risk assessments within the global supply chain. Stakeholder Engagement:Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGO), and industry groups focused on human rights issues. Represent the company in initiatives promoting human rights within the medical device industry. Incident Response and Reporting: Establish mechanisms for reporting and investigating human rights concerns or violations. Work closely with relevant departments to address and mitigate identified issues. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring systems to evaluate the effectiveness of human rights policies and initiatives. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on human rights performance. Global Surveys and Audits: Responding to internal and external inquiries, complaints, and investigations related to human rights issues. Coordinate responses to global human rights surveys, ensuring accurate and timely submission. Support and participate in global human rights audits, collaborating with internal teams to address findings and implement improvements. WE ARE SEEKING:A bachelor’s degree in Human Rights, International Relations, Law, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 3 years’ experience in human rights, labour relations, corporate social responsibility, or a related field. Communication Skills- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to align priorities with leaders and key stakeholders. Proficiency in other languages is a plus. Familiarity with human rights principles and international frameworks. Understanding the medical device industry would be highly recommended. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and address human rights issues within a global context. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Travel- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed. Advanced skills in Outlook and the MSO suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe. Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize within a set timeline. Initiative-taking problem-solving approaches and strong decision-making capability.
