This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educational leader to develop and implement the gold standard academic programming for which CAPA is known, in a location that is undergoing rapid growth. As a senior leader in the center, the Director works closely with colleagues in the center as well as with the Global Academic Management Team (GAMT). **Responsibilities and Duties**- Serve as the leader of CAPA’s Barcelona program, ensuring that CAPA’s mission and academic standards are promoted and maintained at all times. - Oversee all academic administration for CAPA Barcelona programs, including but not limited faculty hiring and training, student enrollment and academic advising, learning technology implementation, and co-curricular programming. - Lead curriculum planning and development for Barcelona in collaboration with colleagues. - Manage quality assurance measures, including but not limited to course evaluations, faculty self-assessment, peer-review, and reporting. - Oversee development and implementation of academic elements of custom programs, including but not limited to course development, sourcing faculty, contributing to proposals, and student advising and academic support. - Promote CAPA’s Globally Networked Learning objectives, optimizing use of technology via CANVAS/LMS. - As a member of the Global Academic Management Team (GAMT), participate in global academic initiatives. - Ensure that principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion are foregrounded in all aspects of academic delivery, and that CAPA classrooms are hospitable and welcoming spaces that promote learning for students of all backgrounds. - Monitor and plan academic program spending across several budgets. - Facilitate the fulfilment of partnership agreements, including agreements with local universities, as well as universities based in the US. - Ensure integrity of academic records and other documents shared across the organization, as well as implementation of all registrar and copyright compliance requirements. - Serve as point person for site visits from existing or prospective US university partners, ensuring that CAPA’s mission, ethos, and academic and programmatic standards are well-represented. - Provide onsite guidance and support to the Assistant Director of Program and Student Services (PASS) who is primarily responsible for health, safety, and crisis management. Working collaboratively as a team, serve as backup emergency and crisis management support to PASS staff. - Contribute to new academic affairs projects as they arise. Teaching for the CAPA Barcelona program may also be an option, based on interest, background, and program needs. **Qualifications**- Master’s degree, PhD strongly preferred. - Proven experience in academic management, higher education administration, and/or working with US undergraduates. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team. - Strong written and interpersonal skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure. - Experience with managing challenging and escalated issues. - A high level of proficiency in computer software particularly Microsoft Office and CANVAS/LMS.
