At ING we are looking for a Data IT Chapter Lead Your role and work environment: We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic IT Chapter Lead to join our Data Platforms area within Data Management Tribe to design and evolve the Data Platform ecosystem in ING Spain & Portugal. The responsibility of this team is maintained and evolve the data platform that supports the bank's day-to-day operations. Your key responsibilities: As a Data IT Chapter Lead you will: • Lead a chapter of up to 10 Software Engineers developing and evolving data platforms and defining and implementing vendor and sourcing strategy to raise the bar and meet the capacity requirements. • Create a culture in which employees take responsibility, help each other to be successful and remain a step ahead. You manage the performance review process for your chapter colleagues. • Ensure tribe and squads have the right people and skills and develop the members of your chapter (craftsmanship improved). Prepare the engineering team to next step in the strategy. • Bring an experienced Data Engineer background. • Design, install, test, and deliver data platforms that will shape speed up the development of software, ensuring that they meet the requirements of functionality, quality, and performance of the customer. • Support in production by analysis and fixing any incident that occurs. Contribute to improve the technical discipline by collaborating with the cross technical chapter. Learn from errors. • Develop own strategies aligned with bank, tribe’s and ITAL’s strategies. In your tribe along with the ITAL, • ensure a highly skilled and motivated team. • ensure a safe, open, experimental, continuous learning, collaborative culture. • help improve our engineering practices. • are responsible of the transformation agenda applicable to the assets of the domain. • are responsible of keeping the alignment with group standards. • are responsible of ensuring the required levels of service in all environments with the assets under scope. Essential: • Expert level on SQL (Oracle/IBM Suite) • Good understanding of Data Platform Ecosystems • DWH and DataLake patterns background • Backup, Recovery, Security policies • Up&Running Strategies such as Disaster Recovery • Data Real time process experience • Plan growth and changes (capacity planning) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Engineering management background. • People manager skills. • Best practices in testing • DataOps and Agile culture Nice to have: • Data Platform evolution experience • Data governance and quality knowledge • Financials Regulatory context • Monitoring (Prometheus-Grafana) • Exadata • Storage and network knowledge • Operating system performance • Familiar with configuration management and "infrastructure-as-code" tools. • knowledge & experience in Azure or other cloud environments.
