We are looking for a Chief Steward to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona . Under the guidance of the Director of Food & Beverage, the Chief Steward will control the inventory of all equipment, china, cutlery, and glassware as well as managing the stewarding team in order to ensure a clean and safe working environment for the Restaurants and Kitchen team. • Orders and manages necessary supplies. Ensuring workers have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.
• Monitors the inflow of ordered materials and the maintenance of current materials.
• Conducts china, glass and silver inventories.
• Controls inventories of food, equipment, smallware, and liquor, and report shortages to designated personnel.
• Inspects supplies, equipment, and work areas in order to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
• Manages all equipment, china and glass.
• Enforces proper cleaning routines for equipment, floors, tools, etc.
• Enforces proper use and cleaning of all dish room machinery.
• Ensures all food holding and transport equipment is in working order.
• Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.

Qualifications What we're looking for...

• 3+ years of experience as Chief Steward in a high volume hotel / restaurant.
• You're a strong team leader, a natural at managing and inspiring others in a way that gets the best out of them.
• You combine analytical and methodical thinking with high attention to detail and a solution-focused approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish.
• You have a solid understanding of local legal compliance requirements.
• You make people feel good - your team, guests and colleagues alike. You make a positive impact.
• You are an excellent relationship builder, confident in working with other teams and leaders; you're passionate about what we can achieve together.
