Quality Manager

THE GOAL

The aim of the KL Quality Manager:

• ensure all company products meet customer’s expectations and demands.
• support the development of the new products in term of compliance and quality standards.
• be in close touch with the customers quality departments.
• be the company’s spokesperson towards the local food safety authorities.
• draft and organize the processes of the company.
• promote quality culture, food safety awareness and continuous improvement.
• Part time contract (3 days/ 24 hours per week)

THE ROLE:

Scope

• the scope includes all the technical, food safety and compliance subjects related to the Kelly Loves grocery range, from production to trade with the final customers, including intermediate storage.

Main responsibilities / Duties

• outline quality standards, developing quality control processes to ensure company products meet internal and external quality standards before going to market.
• offer technical support during the development of new products/concepts
• ensure the legal compliance of KellyDeli Shop SL company in terms of documentation, HACCP based food safety management system and traceability requirements towards Spanish authorities.
• be constantly updated about the regulations in force in term of food safety, labelling, metrology and local environments requirement.
• provide technical support for import and export activities.
• draft the legal texts and compulsory information destinated to labels/artworks and their translations.
• validate possible new suppliers, requesting them, organizing and reviewing the necessary information and documents.
• validate the specifications of the products, drafting the proper technical specifications destinated to the customers.
• manage claims and non-conformities and coordinate food safety crisis.
• inspect products/suppliers to ensure the conformity.
• register and validate the new references on the company’s PLM tool (aka Kaizen)
• register and review the necessary information on the customer’s shared databases (GDSN platforms)
• perform periodic assessment of supplier risk and performance and propose the subsequent CA/PA to the high management.
• conduct periodic risk assessments related to the products and define and apply the methods of control and sampling plan.
• Manage external consultants to ensure workplace safety compliance (for Madrid’s office)

REQUIRED SKILLS

• proven experience in a similar position within the F&B production and/or international trade
• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in food technology/food safety/quality management around food or equivalent level of education.
• Expert level knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000 and international GFSI food safety standards
• Knowledge of Spanish law and regulations for food trading companies and of the digital tools for communication with Spanish authorities.
• Solid background in food, production plant, etc.
• Attitude to teamwork and smart working.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken, written and read)
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office (excel, word, …)
• Availability to travel across the EU
