JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Scientific Assistant to actively participate in a research project focused on the evaluation and improvement of diagnostic methodologies for Legionnaires’ disease in Catalunya.

The selected candidate will provide scientific and technical support to the research team throughout all phases of the study. Responsibilities will include coordinating and supporting data collection, management, and analysis, as well as contributing to the implementation and evaluation of training activities across participating hospitals in Catalunya. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of the project and the dissemination of its outcomes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Collection, organization, and management of clinical, epidemiological, and/or microbiological data.
Collaboration in the statistical analysis of data and in the interpretation of results.
Participation in the validation and comparison of diagnostic techniques (conventional and/or innovative).
Review of scientific literature related to Legionnaires’ disease and diagnostic methods.
Preparation of technical reports and presentations, and support in the drafting of scientific articles.
Coordination with other team members, laboratories, healthcare centres, and/or collaborating institutions.
Support in administrative tasks and project follow-up activities, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE

Graduated in health sciences (Food Science and Technology, Biology, Biotechnology) and Master in Health Sciences.
Spanish, Catalan and English.
Experience in research.
Experience in data analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, or others).
Ability to work in a team, with strong organizational skills.
Scientific English (reading and writing).
Experience working in or with health Institutions.

WHAT WE OFFER

Science Law Indefinite contract (30 h/week) linked to the project: La Marató 202525-10
Start date: March 2026.
Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.
Flexible payment (childminding vouchers + restaurant).
23 days holiday and 5 days for personal matters + 2 days for Easter + 2 days for Christmas.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.
