Concept Designer – Mid

Amuse Animation is an international animation powerhouse founded in 2015 and headquartered in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with a growing presence in France and China.

We create and develop original IPs as well as provide high-quality 2D and 3D animation services. Our content reaches a global audience across platforms such as YouTube, Amazon, Samsung TV Plus and leading Chinese platforms.

We are looking for some Concept Designers – Mid to join our team in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. 

YOUR ROLE

• Create high-quality concepts for characters, environments, props and other visual elements.


• Translate briefs, scripts and creative direction into clear and appealing visual solutions.


• Explore different design options while maintaining the project's visual style and consistency.


• Work closely with Leads, Supervisors and Art Direction, incorporating feedback effectively.


• Balance artistic quality with production requirements and technical constraints.


• Ensure designs are clear and suitable for downstream departments.


• Collaborate with Art, Story, Animation, Layout, Rigging and Production to solve creative and production challenges.


• Identify potential issues and proactively propose solutions.


• Manage priorities and deliver high-quality work within production deadlines.

ARTISTIC & TECHNICAL

• Strong understanding of drawing, perspective, anatomy, composition, shape language and visual design.


• Good knowledge of character, environment and prop design.


• Ability to create appealing designs within an established artistic style.


• Strong understanding of colour, lighting and visual composition.


• Ability to translate written or verbal ideas into visual concepts.


• Proficiency in Photoshop and relevant digital design tools.


• Strong understanding of Cut-Out animation design and production pipelines.


• Ability to adapt artwork to production requirements.


• Basic knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony, particularly for preparing and organizing artwork and layers for animation.


• Familiarity with ShotGrid.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3–5 years of professional experience in concept art, visual development or animation.


• Strong portfolio showcasing character, environment and/or prop design.


• Professional experience in an animation or entertainment production environment.


• Strong visual storytelling and design skills.


• Ability to work independently while responding effectively to creative direction.


• Good communication, collaboration and organizational skills.


• Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work within deadlines.


• Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus.
