Amuse Studios is looking for an experienced and visionary Lead of Animation to lead our animation team and drive the creative vision for our external project / service division. In this role, you will oversee the entire animation production process reporting to our 3D Animation Supervisor, from concept development to final delivery, ensuring that all animations align with our brand objectives/storytelling goals by providing concise and continous feedback to our artists. You will collaborate with our Supervisor you will report to, producer, and other departments to create high-quality movie animated contents.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
-Assign daily/ weekly tasks to animators according to their skill level vs production
priorities. Provide estimates on tasks for production to prioritize the work schedule.
- Animate quotes when required.
- Ensure animation on-time deliveries by providing daily support to the animators.
- Participate in daily animation reviews providing creative and constructive feedback to
artists.
- Ensure feedback is concise and constructive in directing artists and freelance to reach
milestones & show targets.
- Work with the production team to ensure the status of each shot is known, allowing
them to track the progression of shots.
- Work with the relevant production crew to establish and maintain scheduling for the
show and ensure the team is hitting their deadlines.
- Communicate with the animation supervisor on a daily basis about the status of the
weekly targets and deliveries due dates, plus any technical updates, warings or issues
that might put at risk achieving those targets.
- Oversee and assist in training the animation team both technically and creatively when
required by production.
ARTISTIC-TECHNICAL
- Provide references/briefs to animators when needed.
- Review the work of each animator on a regular basis, filtering the technical issues before
submitting to the Anim Supervisor or approving the shots if it is the case.
- Ensure the artistical quality, style and continuity of animation across the show.
- Ensure the technical quality of animation output to downstream departments
(LGT/RND).
- Conduct model and rig testing to ensure rigs are production ready.
- Create and bank show-specific Cycles/Poses. Optimizing the animation library of poses
and cycles in order to set the style and benchmark for the teams.
- Provide references/briefs to animation providers when required by production.
- Provide artistic/ technical feedback to the animation providers according to production
priorities and review quotas.
INTER-DEPARTMENT
- Identify/ anticipate and communicate potential issues in production by working with
Script/Animatic/Layout departments.
- Collaborate with the assets deparments (ART/MOD/SHA/RIG) to anticipate animation
team needs.
- Foster a collaborative work environment between animators and other departments.
HARD SKILLS
- Demonstrate a broad range of animation skills, this includes a deep understanding of the
principles of animation and how to best employ those principles to create performance
that supports both the characters and story goals of the show.
- Strong understanding of the 3D Animation workflow and pipeline.
- Ability to successfully interpret a creative brief, whether it's a verbal or visual brief.
- Blender
- A strong grasp of physical motion, weight, balance, texture and form.
- A demonstrable understanding of rigs and typical rigging set-ups, animation pipelines
and transferring data between tools.
- Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life drawing skills.
- Previous experience in a similar position.

- Ability and enthusiasm for leading and mentoring an animation team.

environment.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Presencial working model.
- Possibility of remote working model.
- Working shift: Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 16.00, Friday 08.00 to 14.00.
- Contract: project, estimation 8 months
