JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:  ACTIVITIES ANIMATOR

DEPARTMENT:       ACTIVITIES

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform creative Resort Activities, Sports and Recreations program in order to meet and exceed Owners and Guests expectation and to provide an outstanding Vacations Experience with in their Holiday Ownership.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:   

Reports to:     Activities Manager, Director of Rooms

Supervises:   N/A

Interfaces:     Activity Administrator,  Pool Attendant,  Activity Assistant, Lifeguard, Beach attendant

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Arrive in proper attire and conduct yourself professionally when on property and ensure that the daily assignments are completed as scheduled.
• To use outlined procedures when performing opening and closing duties; this includes basic accounting and computer skills. To enforce standards for the pool and fitness facility.

• Knowledge and understanding of all resort activities and concierge knowledge.
• Assist in the planning, implementing, leading and evaluation of all activities, when required by Manager or supervisor.
• To cross train and be familiar with and competent in the performance and understanding of other functions required of this department and be able to fill in as required and as directed in the absence of associates who are normally responsible for those duties.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to co-ordinate multiple activities & and sports for children and adults.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Maintain a clean, neat and well organised work place, which projects a professional atmosphere and which supports the general goals of the department and provides a desirable work place.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• To be able to express or exchange ideas by means of the Spanish, English language; to be able to hear and understand spoken words from customers, associates, walky talkies and pagers of the Resort.
• Teach different kinds of sports.
• Work on different activities with children & adults.
• Professional experience in crafts and artwork.
• Creative thinking.

• Basic computer skills, specifically word for windows.

• Should have lived in the area over 5 years with relationships and experience in the local leisure and tourism industry.
• Good physical and mental health.
• Must have full First Aid Course by official organization (i.e. Red Cross) with certificate presented before hiring
• must have Lifeguard certificate and the individual is responsible for ensuring that the certificate is renewed yearly
• preferred certified training in various activities such as pilates, yoga, spinning etc. 
• Should have experience with Children.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• The physical demands of this position require the exerting of up to 20 Kg of force occasionally to move objects both horizontally and by lifting.
• The ability to ascendant descend stairs at a rapid rate, lower the body to floor level and move about with agility, to stand for extended time, to detect attributes of objects such as size, shape, smell, temperature by visual, olfactory and tactile means necessary for the satisfactory performance of this position.
• Visual observation.

• Walking and working outside of air controlled areas.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department. Duties may include: concierge responsibilities, help in preparing and cleaning up after activities, provide assistance to engineering dept. in pool-related matters, equipment rentals and check out, and any other duties assigned by manager and supervisor. Also could be required to help monitor the Kids Club.
