About the Role

As Communications Director Consumer Tissue, you will play a key strategic role in strengthening internal and external communications across your assigned business unit. Working in line with the Essity Group Function Communications strategy, you will contribute to the development of the communication strategy and lead its effective implementation.

You will act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, ensuring that communication supports business priorities, transformation initiatives and reputation management. This role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on execution, as well as the ability to collaborate across an international, matrix organization. By building strong networks with country communications teams and Group Communications, you will help ensure consistent messaging, strong brand activation and impactful engagement across markets.

What You Will Do

• Communication Strategy & Planning: Contribute to and drive the implementation of internal and external communication strategies, plans, guidelines and routines for the business unit.

• Business Partnering: Act as a strategic communication advisor to relevant functions, supporting business objectives and leadership priorities.

• Channel Management: Ensure an optimal mix of communication channels to maximize reach, awareness and understanding among internal and external stakeholders.

• Content & Delivery: Deliver clear, engaging oral, written and digital communications tailored to audience needs.

• Change Communication: Support communication related to change initiatives within the business unit, ensuring clarity, alignment and engagement.

• Media & Crisis Communication: Establish and coordinate professional media, issues and crisis communication routines across business units and local markets.

• Collaboration & Alignment: Work closely with country communication leads and Group Communications to implement business unit plans and activate corporate branding.

Who You Are

• Relevant professional experience in communications, ideally within an international, matrix organization.

• Strong expertise in internal communication, with solid capabilities in social media, public relations and crisis communication, combined with strong digital and analytical skills.

• Senior leader with the ability to build effective internal and external networks, align processes across organizations and manage multiple stakeholders.

• Confident in managing and steering external agencies and partners while maintaining high quality and consistency.
