About us
We are Dragons, a global creative agency working with bold brands to build cultural relevance, connection, and long-term impact through strategy-led creativity.
We bridge digital and creative thinking, developing innovative work across skincare, healthcare, fashion, lifestyle, FMCG, and more. Our international teams in the US and Barcelona deliver results through smart strategy, sharp creativity, and meticulous execution.
About the Role
We're looking for a Creative Director with strong ideas, great visual taste and a real understanding of Spanish culture and consumers, combined with solid international experience.
This person will work primarily across brands and projects with a strong focus on the Spanish market, spanning food, lifestyle, FMCG and other consumer categories.
We're looking for someone who understands the Spanish market deeply, but has also worked with international brands, teams and clients, bringing a broader creative perspective to the work.
As Creative Director, you'll lead creative development across brands, from campaign platforms and launches to social, activations, partnerships, content and brand experiences.
The work can vary significantly from brief to brief. One project might require a big emotional campaign for a household brand. Another might be a food or lifestyle launch that needs to feel desirable and contemporary. Another might start with a global platform that requires a strong local expression rather than simply a translated headline.
You'll work closely with Strategy, Copy, Art Direction, Social and Production teams to develop work that is culturally relevant, visually strong and commercially effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strong campaign ideas and creative platforms for Spanish and international consumer brands.
- Partner closely with Strategy to understand audiences, behaviors and cultural insights, and turn them into creative opportunities.
- Develop original campaigns for the Spanish market, as well as local expressions of global brand platforms.
- Understand the nuances of Spanish culture, humor, language and consumer behavior without relying on obvious cultural clichés.
- Bring experience from international brands and markets into the work while ensuring ideas remain relevant to local audiences.
- Develop ideas across film, social, OOH, digital, retail, experiential, PR, partnerships and content.
- Understand how creative should work across different stages of the funnel and across different channels.
- Recognize when a brief needs a big campaign idea and when the stronger solution may be an activation, collaboration, creator partnership, product experience or social-first idea.
- Create work around products that feels desirable and contemporary, particularly within food, lifestyle and FMCG categories.
- Develop culturally relevant ideas around talent, creators, entertainment and partnerships.
- Lead campaigns from concept through production, protecting both the idea and the quality of execution.
- Direct photography, film, casting, styling and external creative partners when required.
- Present and sell creative work confidently to clients.
- Lead, inspire and develop multidisciplinary creative teams.
Key Requirements
Creative Leadership & Strategic Thinking
- Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify the bigger creative opportunity behind a brief and transform it into a compelling campaign platform, not just an execution.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams and collaborating closely with strategists.
Spanish Market Expertise
- Strong understanding of the Spanish market, its consumers, language, humor and cultural nuances.
- Ability to develop authentic, culturally relevant work that resonates locally.
International Perspective
- Experience working with global brands, international clients or multicultural teams.
- Ability to bring a broader perspective and strong creative standards while ensuring ideas remain locally relevant.
- Strong understanding of when a global idea can translate naturally, when it needs adaptation and when a market requires a locally originated solution.
Visual & Creative Excellence
- Contemporary visual taste with a strong eye for photography, film, casting, styling, design and the visual language of modern consumer brands.
- Ability to balance product storytelling with brand-building, creating work that is both commercially effective and culturally engaging.
- Understanding of how brands can participate in culture through talent, creators, partnerships, experiences and social channels.
Experience
- 10+ years of creative experience, ideally within agencies and/or consumer brands.
- Experience as a Creative Director or senior creative leader.
- Proven experience developing integrated campaigns from concept through production.
- Experience across food & beverage, FMCG, lifestyle, beauty, entertainment or other consumer categories is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of the Spanish market and culture.
- Meaningful experience working with international brands, teams or clients.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual work combined with a contemporary visual perspective.
- Experience across brand campaigns, social, activations, partnerships and culturally relevant work.
- Strong client-facing, communication and presentation skills.
- Native or near-native Spanish.
- Strong professional English, with sufficient fluency to concept, collaborate and present comfortably in English.
Portfolio
We want to see ideas, taste and range.
Showcase strong campaigns, as well as activations, social ideas, collaborations and product experiences that demonstrate different ways brands can connect with people.
We want to see work that feels relevant to its audience, where the product matters and the visual execution is strong.
Most importantly, your portfolio should demonstrate both sides of the profile: a genuine understanding of the Spanish market and meaningful experience working internationally.
