About the position

Softonic is looking for a Data Engineer to join our talented Business Intelligence team in Barcelona.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that empowers our BI Engineers to transform data into actionable insights. If you are passionate about data, have a strong technical skillset, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Manage current data ingestion processes on GCP
• Design and implement the architecture of Softonic’s data lake located in Google Cloud Platform
• Design and implement the integration of additional data sources into the data lake
• Develop and maintain Google Cloud infrastructure related to data ingestion and processing
• Optimize data management and processing, both in terms of budget and performance
• Design and implement dev ops processes related to Softonic’s data lake (e.g. git workflow, staging environment, deployment processes, permissions…)
• Work with stakeholders to identify root causes of inaccurate data points and develop fixes
• Provide support for users of internal dashboards and reports to help understand, improve and expand available data

Minimum experience and qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
• Fluent in Python programming language (3+ years of experience)
• Experience running data workflows and develop data pipelines with cloud orchestration tools working with Airflow
• Proficient working with BigQuery and SQL
• API integrations

Nice to have:

• Dataflow
• Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, Storage, Composer, Admin, Serverless deployments, etc )
• Git
• Working experience with QLIK Cloud
