Data Engineer | Senior

We're partnering with an international technology consultancy to hire a Senior Data Engineer for one of the world's leading travel tech platforms. You'll join the team behind a data platform that processes 3.6B+ domain events and ~11.5 TB of data every day, in real time, powering products used by millions of travelers worldwide.

The role

A hands-on senior seat on a platform where scale is the daily challenge. You'll work across the full data lifecycle (capture, ingestion, processing, enrichment, storage and distribution), building real-time distributed systems that are scalable, resilient and highly available. You'll write clean, tested code, optimize performance, own monitoring and reliability, and document and influence architectural decisions.

Stack

Python / Scala, Apache Spark, Kafka, Kinesis, Airflow, Hive, EMR, AWS, Docker, SQL and NoSQL databases.

We're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with Python (Scala is a plus, and you can learn it on the job)


• Strong hands-on experience with Spark or PySpark in production


• Real-time data experience (streaming or micro-batch), ideally with Kafka


• Production experience on AWS


• Strong SQL, with both relational and non-relational databases


• An engineering mindset: architecture, testing, performance, observability


• Fluent English

Nice to have: Scala, Kubernetes, Terraform, Databricks or Flink; experience in travel, e-commerce, fintech or other high-traffic platforms.
