Descripción del trabajo - Design Engineer



 


Your role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your mission is to enhace our existing product lineup while driving the creation of innovative high-pressure and gas applcations. You will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the demands of the energy transition where sustainability and efficiency are proiritized.


Your work will focus on diverse projects centered around PET, N2, CO2, and H2 applications, positioning you at the forefront of cutting-edge technology development. The role will requiere you adapt quickly to the dynamic needs of the industry and spearhead initiatives that align whith the global shift towards sustainable energy solutions.


Located in Eibar, Basque Country, you will report directly to the ABC Compressors R&D Manager. Your collaborative spirit will be essential, as you will work closely with various departments to achieve common goals


 


Your Responsibilities:



  • Design of Standardized Product Ranges, and Platforms for Engineered Solutions.

    • Coordinate design activities for the different product ranges in development with a team of Designer Engineers based at GECIA in India.

    • Assure the design of the new product and/or modification of existin products are in line with all product specifications.

    • Coordinate the issuing of design documents for components, assemblies, engineering bill of materials and technical instructions both for internal use as for communication to the cuestomer by the team at GECIA.

    • Release drawings and instructions according to our tools and processes.

    • Release engineering bill of materials according to our tools and processes.

    • Drive the design focus towards.

      • Safety first: producs safe to manufacture, transport, install, operate, service and dismantle at the end of its life.

      • Reliability: reliability through the full life cycle of the product.

      • Designf-for-Manufacturing and/or -fit-to-source: consider the feasibility to manufacture the component when designing it.

      • Design-for-Assembling: evaluate design continuously with operations deparment on the assembly.

      • Design-for-service: design the products to allow efficient.



    • Design cost efficient products, both by designing components which are cost efficiente as by design the product allowing a (cost) efficient industrilisation process.

    • Apply lessons learned from previous projects.

    • Apply our Design Rules.

    • Together with the Project Engineer, participate actively in solving design related quiality issues.

    • Maintain a productive relationship with you peers in GECIA.

    • Participate in technical alignment meetins with suppliers to specify the best product at the lowest cost: strive for a global optimisation by aligning design and manufacturing capabilities of the selected suppliers.

To succeed, you will need

Experience & Educational requirements



  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience in compressors development, reflecting a deep understanding of the industry.

  • Fluently in Spanish, Basque and English.

  • Experience with CAD, MRP (BPCS), PLM and MS Excel.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanics or equivalent.

Option 1: On-Site
This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Eibar, Spain (ES). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.
