JOB SUMMARYJOB FUNCTIONSReporting to the General Manager, the Director of Marketing takes responsibility for the development, delivery and execution of the annual Marketing plan and Marketing budgets in line with the hotel strategic priorities and revenue targets.The successful candidate is also part of the hotel´s Executive Team and therefore has responsibilities as a driver of our Culture and keeper of our brand and hotel standards.As Director of Marketing, the successful candidate will lead a team made up of four marketing professionals, including a Marketing Manager and a Public Relations ManagerKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Be responsible for the planning and execution of content creation as well as the briefing to creative agencies (including copy writing, photo/video shootings) ensuring delivery in adherence with brand guidelines and hotel positioning.Develops marketing strategy by studying economic indicators; tracking changes in supply and demand; identifying customers and their current and future needs; and monitoring the competition.Continually review changes to the market, consumer trends and the activities of competitors, adjusting the marketing plan if necessary.Identify new business opportunities.Drive the positioning and activation of the restaurants & bars on the local market. Work with internal and external resources to define clear positioning for each outlet that resonates under the overall hotel positioning. Develop & implement local marketing activities (including event strategy) aiming to engage with locals and increase capture ratio from in-house guests.Act as a Brand Champion with the hotel teams. Together with each hotel’s leadership team and Marketing, drive brand activation and ensure the brand experience comes alive through the hotel messaging and guest experience.Pro-actively identify relevant marketing partners for the hotel and manage these relationships profitably to raise hotel awareness, drive demand, deepen loyalty and enrich brand experience.Drive loyalty Marketing: Focus on increasing engagement with Loyalty Members through the organization of events, and enhancing guest experience with Elite Members on property.Support sales team with the creation of marketing collateral and tactical promotions associated with the key market segments (E.g. Groups, Weddings, Suites,…)Ensure full compliance with all Marriott International standards & programs.Champion the Social Media strategy in line with the brand positioning and hotels’ stories. Specific focus on online reputation management and guest engagement.Constantly monitoring and update competitive research analysis.Assist with all local promotional activities that support the needs of the hotel and restaurants/bars. This could include photo shoots, broadcasts, celebrity interviews, press visits and other specific events that require personal attention. Also, forge local partnerships and review opportunities for local level promotions and sponsorships to gain recognition and beneficial status within the community.Together with the Area Director of Marketing translates divisional and global initiatives into the local environment and ensures participation and compliance.Collaborates with the department of Finance to ensure compliance with the budgeted marketing expenses.Connect with local and national PR teams as necessary.Evaluate and manage incoming media requests.Planning and execution of content creation as well as the briefing to creative agencies (including copy writing, photo/video shootings) ensuring delivery in adherence with brand guidelines and hotel positioning.Continually review changes to the market, consumer trends and the activities of competitors, adjusting the marketing plan if necessary.Drive the positioning and activation of the restaurants & bars on the local market. Together with each hotel’s leadership team and Marketing, drive brand activation and ensure the brand experience comes alive through the hotel messaging and guest experience.Create a positive work environment that supports great performance and engagement both from own and extended team.REVENUE GENERATIONCreate schedule of pre and post stay marketing messages based on calendar and need periods.React to meetings/banqueting and room sales forecasts with appropriate sales/field marketing assistance.Work with Field Marketing to optimize, design and build relevant digital channels.Create content for hotel website.Connect Field Marketing teams to ensure quarterly campaigns are delivered on brand and sync in with property needs.Assist in connecting property to all Marriott internal sales channels.Place and design advertising when needed to help fill need periods.Collaborates with the Digital Field team to deliver multi-lingual tactical marketing campaigns in all segments.Measure and evaluate the impact of all content and initiatives.Implement brand direction on new websites (internal/external), imagery and content.Collaborates with the Digital Field team to manage OTA updates, text and photography.Maintain and coordinate all video and photography updates and audits.Lead all social media channels.Work with appropriate hotel teams to manage reputation review sites.COLLATERALBrief all design collateral to outside agencies as required.Ensure all printed, electronic and guest facing material is on brand.Regularly appraise all material ensuring on brand and locally relevant.Ensure all hotel teams are proficient with brand standards when designing in house.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSIn addition to the essential functions above, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.Provide constructive feedback to all departments, specifically in relation to the repositioning of the Restaurants/Bars and Brand Activation efforts across all departments.Be a role model to all associates.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
