Moco Museum, short for Modern & Contemporary Museum, is dedicated to making art accessible to all. Founded in 2016 by Kim and Lionel Logchies, the independent museum features a diverse collection of modern, contemporary, and digital art. With locations in Amsterdam (2016), Barcelona (2021), and London (2024), Moco exhibits iconic works by celebrated artists and emerging talents. The museum’s collection includes works by Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Banksy, KAWS, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Yayoi Kusama and Studio Irma. With over 5 million visitors, including figures such as Barack Obama, Steven Spielberg, Venus Williams, Adele, Tim Cook, and Dua Lipa, Moco continues to engage visitors with its thought-provoking exhibitions.As a Duty Manager it is your duty to supervise all floor activities including assisting visitors and monitoring Junior Duty Managers and floor crew. The Duty Manager plays a key role in the efficient and effective operation of Moco Museum. This position oversees the day-to-day activities of the museum, ensuring the highest standards of visitor experience, crew management, and facility maintenance. The Duty Manager collaborates closely with various departments to coordinate operations and enhance the overall functionality of the museum.Visitor Experience
Ensure a high level of customer service and visitor satisfaction by supervising operations, including ticketing, information desks, and visitor services.
Monitor visitor flow and address any issues or concerns to enhance the visitor experience.
Museum Hosts Management
Provide leadership, guidance and training to help maintain a positive work environment and uphold service standards.
Deliver the daily operation brief to allocate duties and responsibilities to the Museum Hosts to ensure smooth operation and adherence to museum policies and procedures.
Execute the annual performance appraisals of Museum Hosts
Conduct regular performance evaluations of the Hosts, provide constructive feedback and address any performance issues in collaboration with the General Manager.
Attend the weekly DM meetings
Establish monthly meetings with HR for organisational effectiveness, promote a positive work environment, enhance employee satisfaction and enforce HR policies.
Operations Coordination
Coordinate daily operations, including opening and closing procedures
Liaise with other museum departments, such as exhibitions, marketing and facilities to ensure seamless coordination of activities and events.
Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for visitors and staff.
Monitors the premises indoor and outdoor cleaning, ensures follow-up and reports on cleanliness.
Back-Office Duties
Monthly schedule update to ensure optimal operation of the museum
Company clothing selection, order and distribution
Weekly meeting with Marketing and Sales to coordinate partnerships, promotions, sales and discounts,
Elaboration and updates of procedures and processes required to operate Moco Museum, i.e. crew manual, lost & found manual, etc.
At least 4 years of experience in operations, process management, service management, or a related role, ideally within a startup or early-stage business
Strong leadership skills with a focus on building and motivating teams
Spanish and English is required, other languages will be a plus.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays
Knowledge of art and design is a plus but not a must
Degree-level education
