ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• Bachelor´s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental sciences 

LANGUAGES

• Spanish\: native proficiency. 
• English\: full professional proficiency (spoken and written). 

EXPERIENCE

• 6-8 years of relevant experience 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• Demonstrate a sound understanding of environmental contaminants, the fate and transport of contaminants in the subsurface, exposure pathways, and source–pathway–receptor linkages. 
• Conduct hazard identification HAZID studies, including the identification of process safety and environmental risks. Basic knowledge of fault tree analysis and quantitative risk assessment methodologies. 
• Develop conceptual site models and undertake environmental risk assessment. 
• Perform Human Health Risk Assessments (HHRAs) for contaminated land in accordance with applicable national and international guidance. 
• Demonstrate project experience in compliance with the EU Environmental Liability Directive (ELD), Spanish environmental liability legislation, Law 7/2022 on waste and contaminated soils for a circular economy, Royal Decree 9/2005, Royal Decree 665/2023, and relevant ASTM International and USEPA standards related to conceptual site models and risk assessment methodologies.  
• Applications and software\: 
o Advanced Microsoft Excel (essential) 
o Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including ArcGIS or QGIS. 
o Programming and data analytics skills, including Visual Basic, Python, and Power BI (desirable). 
o Risk assessment software, including RBCA, RISC, and CLEA. 
o Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications

We are seeking an experienced consultant with a strong background in environmental and human health risk assessment  to join a well-established team delivering complex projects at both national and international levels. 

We provide high-quality, innovative solutions to our clients, including the development of environmental risk assessment tools to support investment decision-making and risk mitigation, digital solutions for real-time site data analysis, climate change risk assessments, and water stewardship services.

As part of the Worley Community and under supervision and mentorship within the team, you will assist in the delivery of consulting services to Worley and our customers. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work on complex national and international projects within the Environment, Water and Sustainability business line at Worley Consulting. 
• Conduct environmental risk assessments, including the development of conceptual site models and fate-and-transport modelling. Identify initiating events and safety hazards that may result in environmental damage. Perform fault tree analyses, risk quantification, and risk monetization.  
• Develop environmental risk assessment and management tools, including advanced applications using Excel, Visual Basic (desirable), and Power BI (desirable).   
• Provide technical support, especially in data analysis and tool development/programming. 
• Interpret and evaluate technical data related to site contamination, geology, and hydrogeology, including data analysis, assessment, and interpretation. 
• Conduct Tier 1 and Tier 2 Human Health Risk Assessments (HHRAs), including data gap analyses and the development of recommendations. 
• Prepare and review technical reports, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to a high-quality standard. 
• Support the management of projects, including resource planning, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance. 
• Contribute to business development activities, including the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, under the guidance of senior staff 
• Participate in stakeholder engagement activities and project meetings with clients, regulators, and other relevant parties, supported by senior staff.
