GTF Engine Service Senior Manager (F/M/X)


 


At ITP Aero Ajalvir we are looking to incorporate a Senior Manager into the GTF Team.


 


Mission:


Reporting to the GTF MRO Operations Director, the candidate will lead the execution, coordination, and performance of all production activities associated to DAT with GTF engine shop visits throughout the Pratt & Whitney Gate Management process.


The role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and on-time execution of all operational activities, while achieving objectives related to Turn Around Time (TAT), quality, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction.


 


Main duties of the position:


Acting as the operational focal point for engine execution, this position drives cross-functional alignment between Production, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Planning, Tooling, and Customer Support to ensure engines progress through the assigned Gates according to schedule and performance commitments.


 



  • Own the execution and day-to-day management of all production activities associated with: 


Gate 0 - Engine Induction & Incoming Inspection.


Gate 1 - Disassembly & Inspection.


Gate 3 - Engine Assembly and Test.


Gate 4 -Release Readiness.



  • Ensure all operational activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Pratt & Whitney, regulatory, and company requirements.

  • Develop and maintain production plans and resource requirements aligned with engine delivery commitments.

  • Lead production readiness reviews and operational execution meetings, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.

  • Monitor engine progression through operational Gates, identifying execution risks, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and recovery opportunities.

  • Ensure timely completion of: 


Incoming inspections


Engine teardown activities.


Module and component inspections                 


Assembly operations.


Engine testing and troubleshooting.


Final release activities.



  • Manage production priorities and resource allocation to maximize throughput and achieve committed delivery dates.

  • Coordinate closely with the Material Management team to ensure material availability supports assembly and testing schedules.

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical issues, non-conformances, and operational disruptions.

  • Lead recovery plans for engines impacted by production, quality, tooling, capacity, or technical issues.

  • Execute operations in accordance with the key operational performance indicators defined, including: 


Turn Around Time (TAT)


Labor productivity


Capacity utilization


Quality performance


Rework rates


Test pass rates


Schedule adherence



  • Drive first-time-right execution throughout inspection, assembly, and testing activities.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective /continuous improvement actions.

  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Digital Transformation initiatives aimed at improving operational performance and scalability.

  • Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and performance analyses to support Operations and Program Management decision-making.

  • Ensure workforce capability, competency development, and operational readiness to support program growth.

  • People and Health & Safety Management within his area of responsibility.


 


What profile are we looking for?


 


Background: Aerospace Engineer with more than 6 years of experience in MRO Operational and Management roles. Experience leading operations teams or teams closely related to operations.


Knowledge & Technical Competencies:



  • Strong understanding of MRO operations and engine overhaul processes.

  • Knowledge of GTF engine architecture and Pratt & Whitney operational requirements.

  • Experience in engine disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing operations.

  • Production planning, capacity management, and shop floor execution.

  • Quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Experience with ERP and operational management systems (SAP, Power BI, MES, Excel or equivalent).
