POSITION: IB Business Management & Social Studies Teacher

STARTING DATE: August 2026

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ASM is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and globally-minded teacher of Integrated Social Studies and IB Diploma Program. The successful candidate will inspire students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and support their social and academic growth through a concept-driven, inquiry-based approach to education. The teacher will work collaboratively within the Social Studies Department and the Upper School Staff. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• International Baccalaureate (IBDP) Business HL & SL


• Grade 9 and 10 Integrated Social Studies


• Advisor in the Upper School Advisory Program


• Supervise IB Extended Essays


• Sponsor of an extracurricular activity, as needed
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

• Teacher Certification + 2 years teaching experience, preferably in IB


• Specialist in teaching IBDP Business Management


• Ability and experience in teaching integrated Social Studies preferred


• Experience in using Understanding by Design to develop curricular unit maps


• Experience in using Universal Design for Learning as an approach to planning for teaching and learning


• Experience using a standards-based approach and performance-based assessments


• Experience in using cooperative, inquiry, and project-based learning 


• Experience in using standards-based grading and assessment practices


• Experience in using technology as an instructional tool


• Experience/willingness to serve as an advisor 


• Experience/willingness to work with ELL and students with diverse learning needs 


• Experience in using student data to inform instructional practices

Working hours: 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
