Lower School Classroom Teacher (Grades 1-5)

POSITION: Lower School Classroom Teacher (Grades 1-5)

STARTING DATE: August 2026

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with the other teachers on the team to create high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for students.


• Collaborate with other members of the grade-level team and with other Lower School educators to ensure students are supported in their learning and social-emotional growth at ASM


• Provide a safe, nurturing environment for students and their families

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

• Bachelor's Degree, Teacher Certification + minimum 3 years full-time teaching experience (required) preferably in an international school setting.  


• Experience working with teams and groups


• Experience in using Understanding by Design to develop curricular unit maps


• Experience in using Responsive Classroom or other student-centered classroom community building programs


• Experience using Everyday Math, Workshop approaches, Inquiry teaching, and Conceptual-based planning practices


• Experience in using standards-based grading and assessment practices


• Experience in using technology as an instructional tool


• Experience/willingness to work closely with colleagues to create a dynamic learning environment


• Experience/willingness to work with ELD and students with diverse learning needs 


• Experience in using student data to inform instructional practices


• Experience differentiating for a variety of students


• Willingness to learn, grow and develop past current educational experience


• Supports the school mission, vision and community 


• A desire to have fun, be positive, build community, and support childhood at ASM

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Working hours: 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
