Platform/DevOps Engineer

This role is dedicated to work for one of our main customers on a daily basis within their engineering team alongside other Astrafy engineers. You will help them build an internal developers portal, collaborate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to create scalable, secure, and automated environments for their organization. You will also have the responsibility to translate their business needs into clear and concise technical solutions, as well as having a practical involvement into the solution implementation.

The company is a multinational and successful organization based in Switzerland, with businesses around the world, mainly Europe, US and China. Engineers are spread across the globe with the majority of them located in Switzerland, Portugal and China. 

As part of one of the Cloud & DevOps teams, you will play a pivotal role in successfully deploying applications and creating services for their organizations. You will interact with different stakeholders within the organization and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications using DevOps best practices and Cloud technologies. Your responsibilities will include: 

• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, discover opportunities, map vision & business requirements, and translate them into effective cloud-based solutions and services. 

• Identify opportunities for automation and drive continuous improvement in the deployment process.  

• Design and implement automation frameworks and deployment pipelines using cutting-edge tools and technologies.  

• Continuously evaluate and enhance deployment practices to drive efficiency and reliability. 

• Be autonomous and proactive; understand functional and technical requirements, identify gaps, and suggest improvements. 

• Promote an automate everything approach and apply DevOps best practices to ensure consistent and transparent execution. 

• Contribute to the development and creation of automated services. 

• Keeping up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to deployment services and DevOps.

As part of your mission, you will be required to travel regularly (around once a month) to work on-site with the client, but you will have freedom to organize it when it suits you best.

You will be encouraged to contribute by writing articles that enhance Astrafy’s impact and foster collaboration across the industry.

• More than 3-5 years of demonstrated success in acting as a Cloud & DevOps expert. 

• A solution-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams.

• Strong experience with Cloud Technologies, preferably Google Cloud and AWS.

• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps practices.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in platform security, including IAM, network security, and compliance.

• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is a great advantage

 Interview process

Our interview process is sequential, and should last between 1 to 3 weeks. Each stage leads to either 

• A detailed feedback in case we decide not to move forward with your application

• A move to the next interview process stage

Interview process details:

1. HR screen call ~ 30 minutes

2. Technical Take-Home challenge ~ 4-6 hours

3. Presentation of the technical  “Take home challenge”  ~ 30 minutes

4. Meet the client interview ~ 1h

If the 3rd stage is conclusive, we will arrange a meeting with the client, as they will have the final word for this position given it is tailored for their needs. This 4th stage can only happen if you successfully passed the 3 previous rounds and the client accepts your profile.
