Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the school’s technology systems and infrastructure to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of academic and administrative activities. The role involves supporting staff, students, and parents with technology-related issues, maintaining hardware and software systems, and assisting in the implementation of technology initiatives across the school. Customer service minded with a proactive and hands-on approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide first-line and second-line technical support to staff, students, and parents for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, printers, interactive displays, and other IT equipment.
  • Support and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of user accounts, email systems, and educational platforms.
  • Ensure all classrooms, offices, and learning environments are equipped with functioning technology resources.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of school technology systems and infrastructure.
  • Assist with the setup and deployment of devices for staff and students.
  • Monitor and maintain servers, backup systems, and virtual environments.
  • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and security checks on IT systems and equipment.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to the IT Manager or external vendors when required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of IT equipment, licenses, and technology resources.
  • Support the professional and responsible use of technology throughout the school.
  • Assist in maintaining IT documentation, procedures, and help desk records.
  • Use the Technology Help Desk system professionally and ensure support tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support school events and activities requiring audiovisual or technical assistance.
  • Respond to urgent technical incidents and emergency situations when required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider needs of the school community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Manager or Head of School.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT support or technician role.
  • Experience working in an educational environment is preferred.
  • B.S. Degree, Technical Certification, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advance level of English
