Senior AWS Certified Data Architect

Our client, a leading multinational information technology services company is recruiting for a Senior AWS Certified Data Architect to join their business in Spain.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect with AWS expertise and a strong background

in banking and financial services. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of data

architectures on AWS, building cutting -edge solutions for data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL

pipelines to enable advanced analytics and machine learning workflows. You will work closely with

engineering teams to ensure data governance, security, and compliance while optimizing database

performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

• End -to -End Data Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive data architectures on AWS, including data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines that meet business needs in banking and financial services.

• AWS Service Implementation: Utilize AWS services such as S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambda, and EMR to develop and implement robust data solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

• Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements relevant to the banking and financial sectors.

• Collaborative Optimization: Work closely with engineering teams to optimize the

• performance and scalability of database systems, ensuring high availability and reliability for mission -critical applications.

• Support Data Processing Workflows: Support both real -time and batch data processing for analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning workflows, leveraging AWS data technologies.

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

• Innovation in Data Solutions: Drive the evolution of data architectures by implementing new technologies and approaches to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

• Language: Fluent Spanish & English are required

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture and data engineering.

• At least 3+ years of hands -on experience working with AWS data services in a professional setting.

• Expertise in AWS Data Services: Extensive experience with AWS services such as Redshift, Athena, Glue, DynamoDB, and others to build scalable and efficient data solutions.

• Database & SQL Skills: Strong expertise in SQL and database design. Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.

• Data Modeling & Integration: Deep understanding of data modeling, data integration, and best practices for designing ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Big Data Technologies: Hands -on experience with big data tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, or Hadoop for large -scale data processing.

• Problem -Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem -solving skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast -paced and complex environment.

• Experience in Banking & Financial Services: A solid background in banking and financial services is essential, as it will inform the design of secure, compliant, and optimized data solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certifications:

• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

• Familiarity with Modern Data Platforms: Experience with modern data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or other similar technologies.

• Machine Learning Experience: Familiarity with AWS SageMaker for developing machine learning workflows and integrating them with data systems.
