Senior Manager

Role Purpose

• The incumbent to this role drives the detailed budgeting of a cluster of 4-6 projects and is responsible for overseeing the billing related activities for that cluster of projects.


• The role holder drives the post-win and pre-design project budgeting exercise in collaboration with the Project Head based on the details submitted in the bid and also drives the material and quantity reconciliations.


• The incumbent drives the review of quantity calculations prepared by the Design team and ensures accurate preparation of BOQs.


• The incumbent acts as a third level review for validating the client and sub- contractor  bills  and  drives  adherence  to  all  with contractual  compliances  along  with  GRIL  guidelines.

• The incumbent acts as an escalation point for resolving budgeting & billing related concerns for the group of projects.


• The role holder identifies the deviations from the finalized billing schedule, analyses the root cause of deviations and raises concerns as required.


• The role holder supports the relevant VP – Operations team along with guiding the Associate - B&B– Offices in examining the documents of CoS and applying learnings from other projects to the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Budgeting & Billing – Participate in creating the budgets (including cost planning) for the cluster of 4-6 projects in collaboration with the Operations team and drives the material and quantity reconciliations. Oversee the billing and collection process for that projects cluster. Ensure adherence to all contractual terms and GRIL framework and guidelines. Enforce the finalized policies and procedures. Act as point of contact for the project team to resolve any budgeting & billing related issues and obtaining necessary approvals. Drive completion of all project budgeting related activities as per the fixed timelines while ensuring that all the budgets are updated and recent. Ensure frequent physical validation of client and sub contractor bills are done as per guidelines, based on the data captured in the RFI. Monitor the progress of the cluster of 4-6 projects and provide a third level analysis of budget vs actual progress. Support the VP – Operations team by guiding the Associate - B&B at Offices and Budgeting & Billing teams of projects that are in their scope, on matters of CoS, examining the CoS documents prepared by them and identifying further opportunities in CoS, based on earlier experience.

• Reporting – Ensure the data being captured in the SAP systems is accurate for the cluster of 4-6 projects. Drive adherence to standardized reporting mechanisms and defined timelines across projects. Provide analytical insights to the Head – Budgeting & Billing from the captured data and facilitate teams in resolving budgeting & billing issues hindering the smooth execution of the project. Analyse the budgeted vs actual progress for the allocated projects and identify deviations with the root cause analysis of the deviation and raise red flags to relevant stakeholders.


• People Management – Facilitate development and growth of direct and indirect reportees while keeping track of overall employee engagement and attrition.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Graduate in engineering, preferably Post Graduation in equivalent specialized stream.


• Min 10 yrs. in Planning & Billing function in construction projects of INR 500 cr+ value.
