Senior Mining Engineer Planner (M/F)

Main objectives:

•   Ensure that short-, medium- and long-term mine plans are implemented to
  optimize the life of the mine
  

 Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop the monthly, quarterly and long-term plan at the final design stage
  and the preliminary design stage using the applicable software
  
• Review mine designs and update them as necessary
  
• Review planning guidelines and strategies to optimize mining processes
  
• Safe and efficient execution of mine planning work
  
• Generate mine plans for short (weekly and monthly), medium (quarterly -
  semi-annual) and long term (LOM)
  
• Update and revise mine plans as required
  
•  Collaborate with the mine engineer, production and mine geologists to
  ensure smooth operation and achievement of production objectives
  
•  Ensure that the ROM stockpiling strategy is maintained and that the mill is
  adequately supplied with ore at all times
  
• Manage the geotechnical consultant and adopt recommendations for pit slopes
  and waste rock facility design parameters
  
• Conduct conceptual mining studies on new ore bodies,Supervise the preparation of weekly schedules to meet forecasts
  
•  Develop short-term schedules and assist production engineers in
  implementing designs
  
• Review life-of-mine costs and develop cut-off grade
  strategies for ore reserve estimation and ore blocking by geologists

Training/Education
Requirements

• Hold a mining engineering
  degree or equivalent
  
• Have a good knowledge of
  mine planning and scheduling software (Geovia Surpac, MineSched and Whittle)
  
• Proficiency in computer
  tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.)
  
• Hold a driving licence
  (category B)
  
• First aid certificate
  (desirable)
  

Experience required

•  Have at least 08 years of experience in a
  similar position preferably in open-pit mining
  
• Ability to maintain or exceed industry best
  practices in all tasks related to mining engineering
  
•  Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures
  and practices
  
• Experience in long-term mine planning
  
• Experience in production and planning in an
  open-air environment
  
• Understanding of geotechnical engineering
  
• Knowledge of selective surface mining
  techniques and equipment used  
  

Language Requirement

• Official language: French
  
• Local language: Bambara
  
• Ability to express and write in English
