Senior Platform Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our team in Málaga. In this role, youll take ownership of the operations and ongoing development of one of Norways leading hosting platforms, with a focus on stability, modernization, and scalability.

As part of a dedicated technical team, youll be responsible for both daily operations and long-term platform transformation. This senior position offers significant technical ownership and the opportunity to shape the future of a large-scale hosting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• System Administration: Manage and optimize Linux and Windows production servers.

• Infrastructure: Integrate backend systems with DNS, email, and web servers.

• Automation & CI/CD: Design, implement, and enhance deployment and provisioning pipelines.

• Stability & Security: Maintain uptime, monitoring, and system hardening practices.

• Application Support: Collaborate on .NET and backend services related to hosting (billing, provisioning, control panels).

Your Expertise

You bring a strong background in system administration and DevOps, ideally with 5+ years of experience. Youre comfortable working across both modern and legacy systems, as our platform is undergoing a major modernization phase.

Relevant skills include:

• Linux system administration, shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl)

• Apache & Nginx (reverse proxy, caching, load balancing)

• MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB

• DNS administration (PowerDNS/BIND)

• Email systems (Postfix, Dovecot, spam filtering, security)

• Open-Xchange, FTP/SFTP/FTPS

• XenServer, NFS, LVM, RAID

• Kubernetes, Ansible, infrastructure automation

• Networking (TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, firewalls, SSL/TLS)

• Troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, dig, tcpdump, etc.)

• Programming experience in an object-oriented language (e.g., C#)

Bonus: Proficiency in a Scandinavian language.
