The Senior Underwriter PI/D&O is responsible for underwriting new business and renewing portfolio accounts within an assigned underwriting authority. The role may span multiple lines of business and contributes to financial performance, supports sales initiatives, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders.
• Underwrite new business and/or renew portfolio within the scope defined by the Letter of Authority
• Manage new business submissions based on territory, broker, risk type, and product scope
• Populate quotes in IT systems, including data collection, rating, pricing, underwriting analysis, and wordings
• Issue quotes and follow up with brokers
• Provide authority in the system to lower empowered underwriters or users when applicable
• Issue policies and amendments that cannot be outsourced to Portfolio Management
• Monitor non-tacit renewals and prepare renewal proposals for brokers
• Support Head of Line of Business in portfolio performance monitoring
• Support Business Development and Market Facing teams in sales initiatives, including meetings, presentations, and trainings
• Develop and grow broker and producer relationships through strategic and tactical planning
• Build strong relationships with brokers to achieve financial goals including growth, profit, retention, and new business
• Read, understand, and act within the limits of the Letter of Authority and technical guidelines
• Collaborate with underwriting, operations, legal, and claims teams
• Participate in innovation initiatives, product launches, marketing campaigns, and projects
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal procedures
• Report to Head of Line of Business and Head of Custom
• Participate in business team committee meetings and coordinate with other lines of business
• Achieve financial targets including GWP, commissions, and loss ratios
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance market in similar roles
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong business relationships with clients, brokers, and stakeholders
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Integrity and strong follow-through on tasks
• Ability to challenge norms while working collaboratively

Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Law, Economics, Business Administration, or similar field
