Join the Procurement team as a Strategic Development Manager. This position is crucial to managing strategic programs across the Procurement organization in support of our overall Sourcing Strategy.
This role will enable the Procurement organization to solve complex business problems by leading cross functional, global initiatives from inception through adoption ensuring project deliverables and outcomes are aligned with Procurement objectives. The position requires strong business acumen with Supply Chain knowledge, a background in change management, and advanced executive communication and collaboration skills.

What a Strategic Development Manager does at HP:
- Convert business plans and targets into tangible Procurement actions and deliveries.
- Develop prioritized project plans based on organizational priorities, business impact, and risks.
- Secure and develop a collaborative partnership with key stakeholders to drive fast and efficient project execution.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, and provide a project status on a regular basis to sponsors and stakeholders (including executive level management)
- Manage project scope and timeline while meeting quality standards, sponsor, and stakeholder expectations.
- Monitor, track, and control project outcomes, facilitating project team meetings along the way to ensure performance, progress, and to address problems that arise.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and drive strategies to mitigate project risks.
- Develop detailed change management, communication, and transition plans for multiple implementation projects.
- Partner with project managers and workstream leads to manage project interdependencies.
- Document training requirements and support training design and delivery.
- Conduct change impact and risk assessment and execute risk mitigation strategies.
- Support and lead conversations on definition of roles and responsibilities for newly defined processes
- Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
- Ensure seamless execution, adoption, and overall business readiness.
- Identify and manage anticipated resistance and foster relationships with key stakeholders to ensure seamless transition of process and systems, as well as solution adoption.
- Mentor and coach junior project managers.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, Master’s degree preferred.
- 8-10+ years in various functions of Supply Chain and/or Finance with a general understanding of processes and systems.
- Experience working on projects related to ERP or Supply Chain Planning applications.
- 6+ years managing all phases of projects in a global/virtual environment.
- PMP certification and/or Lean Sigma preferred.
- Advanced understanding of Enterprise Operations and Procurement processes and strategy.
- Strong leadership in managing complex, cross-functional, global initiatives.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while being a constructive contributor to a team.
- Exceptional negotiation, relationship building, and collaboration skills.
- Effective time management skills and critical thinking.
- Ability/willingness to operate in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and contribute to/drive design discussions.
- Solid understanding of project and change management methodology, tools, and application.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict management and facilitation.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite of tools with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- Finance background would be an advantage.
