VP Product Management

Alpega Group is looking for a VP of Product Management, reporting directly to the CEO, working across the product portfolio, Shipper, Carrier, and Platform. This role ideally will be based in Barcelona (hybrid) with the option to be based across Europe.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Alpega is entering a new phase of its development. The strategy is clear, the market opportunity is significant, and the product portfolio is central to how the company will grow and scale from here.

The Vice President of Product will be responsible for shaping and executing Alpega’s product strategy across its portfolio, while rebuilding a strong, disciplined, and outcome-oriented product organization.

This is a senior leadership role with a transformational mandate: bringing focus to the portfolio, raising the bar on product management capabilities, and ensuring strategy translates into fast, high-quality execution.

 Core responsibilities

1. Product portfolio ownership and lifecycle management

You will own Alpega’s product portfolio end-to-end, with accountability for clarity, focus, and long-term value creation. This includes:

• Defining clear product strategies, positioning, and ICPs


• Actively managing product lifecycles (investment, scaling, maintenance, and retirement)


• Making explicit prioritization decisions and trade-offs across initiatives


• Ensuring investment is focused on differentiated, high-impact products

You need to be comfortable saying “no” more times than “yes”.

1. Build and lead a high-performing product organization

The VP Product is responsible for rebuilding and professionalizing product management at Alpega. This will involve:

• Setting clear expectations for product management roles, seniority, and ownership


• Assessing existing capabilities and strengthening the team through hiring, development, and change


• Establishing consistent product discovery, planning, and delivery practices


• Creating strong, trust-based collaboration with Engineering, Commercial, and Customer teams

The goal is a product organization that is respected for its judgment, clarity, and impact.

1. Define product strategy and drive execution

You will own product strategy in close partnership with the CEO and executive team, and ensure it is translated into focused, executable roadmaps. Responsibilities include:

• Turning company strategy into clear product direction and priorities


• Balancing near-term delivery with longer-term platform and capability investments


• Driving execution velocity while maintaining product quality and coherence


• Using data and customer insight to continuously refine direction and priorities

This role combines strategic leadership with operational accountability.

What success looks like within six months:

• A focused, well-articulated product portfolio with clear priorities and ownership


• Fewer initiatives, delivered more predictably, with visible customer and commercial impact


• A strengthened, confident product leadership team


• Improved alignment and trust between Product, Engineering, and Commercial functions


• Clear executive confidence in product decisions and trade-offs

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU

Required experience

• Senior product leadership experience (sr Director, VP or equivalent) in B2B SaaS within the Frieght Transportation/Logistics industry


• Proven ownership of complex product portfolios


• Track record of building or transforming product management teams


• Experience working closely with engineering leadership in technically complex environments


• Exposure to platform, marketplace, or network-effect businesses is a strong advantage
