Why This Role Matters
We are looking for a hardworking individual, with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and who is interested in learning and acquiring the foundations for a career in the art world. This individual must have full confidence and fluency in both English and Spanish. This 12-month position will provide overall assistance to and experience of the business of Christie’s Madrid office, supporting the Regional Managing Director and Director of Impressionist & Modern Art and the Representative for Old Master & 19th Century Paintings based in Madrid.
How You'll Make an Impact
Managing and assisting with general estimate requests for clients’ or potential clients’ property
Provide client services assistance related to the sale of clients’ property (registration, post-sale support)
Support logistic requirements (e.g. shipping, etc) in relation to clients’ property or related activity (e.g. exhibitions, tours, etc.)
General office support for the Director of Impressionist & Modern Art and the Representative for Old Master & 19th Century Paintings (eg, helping with Auction Estimate requests, posting documents, buying stationery)
Contribute to the ED&I committee and initiatives on behalf of Christie’s Madrid office
What you’ll bring to the team
Background in Art History, Business or the ability to demonstrate other relevant work experience
Fluency in required in Spanish & English, additional languages are a plus.
Knowledge of E-mail, Spreadsheet, Word Processing and Presentation software (Microsoft Office preferred)
Superior client service skills using your subject knowledge to confidently liaise with clients.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and proven ability to work to deadlines
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail
