Internship Orchestra Tour - Engineering & Data Internship Program

About the tour

The Internship Orchestra Tour is BMAT’s internship programme for students and early-career technologists who want to build real systems powering the music industry.

For four months, interns join the teams behind the Music Operating System and collaborate on hands-on projects across software engineering, AI and data. Participants gain practical experience while working closely with developers, researchers, product teams and mentors across the company.

Driven by machine learning and copyright expertise, BMAT’s technology connects authoritative music data with the people and companies who create, distribute and use music worldwide.

This edition includes opportunities across different technical tracks:

• Backend Engineering (Python)
• Frontend Engineering (Vue.js)
• Full Stack Development
• AI / Machine Learning Engineering
• Data Analytics & Insights

You don’t need to fit perfectly into a single track — many projects combine different technologies and we’ll help match you with the team where you can contribute and grow the most.

Throughout the programme, interns will:

• Work on real projects with production impact
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams
• Present project progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Learn modern tools, workflows and technologies used across BMAT
• Gain exposure to the music, data and AI ecosystem

• Graduate or Final Year Student in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering or related fields
• Experience or academic exposure to at least one of the following:
• Python development
• Frontend technologies (Vue.js is a plus)
• Machine Learning / AI
• Data analysis and visualisation
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
• Team player with eagerness to learn
• Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive attitude
• Interest in innovative technology and data-driven solutions

Internship Details

• Duration: October 2026 – February 2027
• Positions available: 5–8
• Workload: 20 hours/week (part-time)
• Location: Hybrid (Barcelona preferred, some remote work possible)
• Compensation: 12 €/hour

During the application, you’ll be able to select the areas that best match your interests and experience:

You may select more than one area if your interests overlap multiple disciplines.

2. COMPLETE TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT(S)
Based on the paths you select, we’ll invite you to complete one or more short technical assessments designed to evaluate relevant skills for the programme.

3. APPLICATION REVIEW
Our People team will review your application, technical results and overall alignment with the programme.Selected candidates will move forward to the interview stage.

4. CONVERSATION WITH PEOPLE
A short call focused on:

• Motivation and interests
• Availability and programme fit
• Communication skills and expectations
• General introduction to BMAT and the Internship Orchestra Tour

5. INTERVIEW WITH MENTORING TEAM

The final stage is a technical and project-focused conversation with the mentors leading the internship projects.

This is also an opportunity for candidates to learn more about the teams, technologies and challenges involved in each project.
