Role Description 

To respond to growing interest and demands for litigation funding in Spain, Deminor is looking for a talented individual to support the growth of our business in Spain and to help us with a peak of activity. We are therefore looking for a Legal Intern to join us for few months initially to help identify & assessing litigation funding investments in Iberia and LATAM. This role offers hands-on exposure to litigation finance, complex commercial disputes, and legal risk assessment in an international environment. 

The role is based in Madrid. 

You will be part of a growing, international and diverse team of highly experienced professionals and be responsible to: 

• Assist our Senior Legal Counsel with all cases related work including case management and case review; 

• Carry out legal analysis work such as reading and analyzing draft legal briefs from partnering lawyers, defendants briefs etc.; 

• Carry out legal research relating to potential cases and support the case management process from beginning to end; 

• Provide legal support with all kinds of factual and legal matters on pending or new cases such as fact finding, evidence gathering, building relationships with clients and potential clients to respond to their enquiries; 

• Review funding requests submitted to Deminor, interact with potential clients, their counsels and experts and negotiate funding terms; 

• Support general marketing initiatives to help increase Deminor’s visibility in our growing markets. This may entail to proactively contact corporations, law firms and institutions (arbitration centres, etc.) in these markets to introduce Deminor.

About you: 

We think that to be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate many of the following attributes and skills: 

• An outstanding academic record with a major in Spanish law 

• A qualified student / junior lawyer with 6 months minimum experience in a legal environment (ideally a law firm or a large corporation)  

• Some experience in participating in a Moot court. 

• Curious, wants to learn, motivated to go the extra mile 

• A very hands on / operational approach 

• Excellent organisation skills  

• Result-driven 

• Excellent presentation and communication skills  

• Capacity to work under tight deadlines   

We are looking for students in their last year of university looking for an internship which will be requiring an internship agreement signed by the university.
