Job Summary
Absolute Internship is seeking charismatic, resourceful, and highly responsible On-Site Local Program Guides to lead our university groups during their custom faculty-led programs. You will be the face of Absolute Internship on the ground, serving as the primary local guide, logistics anchor, and cultural bridge for international students and faculty.
This role requires a mix of exceptional customer service, sharp logistical coordination, and deep local knowledge. You will ensure the itinerary runs perfectly on the ground while sharing your passion for your city and keeping our groups safe and engaged.
You will report to our Custom Programs Operations Coordinators and Faculty-Led and Custom Program Manager, and work closely with visiting university faculty and students.

Proposed Responsibilities:
- On-Site Group Leadership: Welcome students and faculty upon arrival. Act as the primary face-to-face contact and local guide for the duration of their program.
- Logistics Management: Oversee day-to-day on-site logistics, including group transportation/shuttles, managing check-ins at accommodations, and coordinating timing for daily activities.
- Local Booking Support: Leverage your insider local knowledge to assist the remote Operations Coordinators with booking regional restaurants, group meals, and local activities that fit the group's needs and budget.
- Event & Excursion Accompaniment: Accompany the group on all scheduled cultural excursions, company site visits, and program events, ensuring smooth entry, timing, and execution.
- Health & Safety Support: Act as the first line of defense for student health and wellness. Assist in navigating local medical care or emergencies if they arise, adhere
- Group Communication: Manage a local group chat (e.g., WhatsApp) to share daily schedule reminders, safety updates, and local recommendations with students.
Expectations & Requirements:
- Local Knowledge: You must currently live in the program city and possess extensive knowledge of its geography, culture, and logistics.
- Communication: Fluent in English and the local language of the destination. Clear, prompt, and professional communication with both students and the remote HQ team is required.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on the specific program itinerary. Availability to remain on-call for emergency support during active program dates.
- Experience: Previous experience in tour guiding, event coordination, student affairs, hospitality, or youth group leadership is highly preferred.
Project Commitment Structure:
- Pre-Program: Complete a brief online training/briefing session and assist remote coordinators with any critical local logistics.
- During Program: Act as the main physical guide on scheduled excursion days, and remain available/on-call on other days as needed.
