DESCRIPTION: SVA Teacher

REPORTS TO: Principal

Starting: August 2024, 100%, temporary

The Swedish/SVA Teacher is responsible and qualified to:

• Contribute to implementation of the Modern Language and IMYC curriculum.

• Swedish/SVA - Grade 4-9 planning /teaching using Swedish curriculum LgR22.

• Modern Languages Swedish - planning/teaching using International Middle Years Curriculum.

• Ensure a safe learning environment for students.

• Contribute to some administrative duties within the Modern Language Department.

• Contribute to some preparational duties within IMYC.

• Be an active and contributing member of the School’s faculty.

• Participate in the full range of professional activities in the school.

• Actively contribute to the operational needs of the school.

• Actively contribute to assessment rubric development

Qualifications, Attributes and Experience the Middle School Modern Language Teacher is expected to have:

• Certified teaching credentials.

• Experience teaching language acquisition skills.

• Fluency in French

• Proficiency in English.

• Experience with working with students or groups.

• Experience in leadership and organisational roles.

• Excellent communication skills.

• The ability to establish rapport with adults and students.

• The ability to work effectively in a team.

• The ability to show initiative and work independently.

The teacher needs to speak Swedish and English fluently.

Experience working with students from diverse cultures and countries would be an advantage.

Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm offers an international education, Grades 1-9.
