Job Description - Ramp;D Engineer - Robotics in Mining

As an Ramp;D Engineer, you get the opportunity to work with technologies and real-life applications that make a substantial impact to an important global industry. You will develop software and create new technologies that are crucial for the mine of the future, with your main focus on perception and control of autonomous robotic systems.

Your responsibilities

  • You prototype, develop, test, and deploy robotic systems for unstructured and dynamic environments.
  • You contribute to the core software stack and strive for high-quality implementations.
  • You foster and promote a culture of knowledge sharing, where experiences and best practices are exchanged to enhance the collective competence of our team.
  • You bring innovative ideas and develop these within the team, constantly aiming to improve the competitive advantage of our mining solutions.
  • You test and commission Ramp;D prototypes and technology demonstrations on mine sites, meaning that national and international travel may at times be required.
  • You understand the interplay between hardware and software, and are not afraid to pick-up the screwdriver when needed.

Your background

  • A MSc or PhD in the subject of robotics, mechatronics, computer science or similar.
  • More than 2 years of professional experience in designing and developing robotic systems, with emphasis on perception or control of industrial robots.
  • Experience in C++ , Python, Linux, ROS, and software engineering practices.
  • Experience in path- or trajectory planning is an advantage.
  • Experience with sensor systems such as LiDARs or cameras is an advantage.
  • To work efficiently and collaborate in a global organization proficiency in Swedish and English is a must.
