Senior UX Designer

As a senior member of our design team, you will be a creative lead in delivering the best online user experience, which makes your role extremely important for our success, playing a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. You will need to have a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UX design problems by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.

Whilst we are looking for someone with a strong bias towards UX design, this role will also see you being involved in elements of the UI design also, so some experience in that area will also be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Works to design briefs provided by the UI/UX Manager, Principal UI/UX Designer or relevant product team members.
• Provide design briefs to other members of the team around UX findings and strategy.
• Understanding of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
• Create wireframing based upon research and using appropriate templates, best practices and any data supplied.
• Continually conducts brand analysis and market research in line with the requirement set.
• Ensures creative input and concept approval from Senior Product Managers, Senior UX Designers, Design Leadership team, as well as both internal and external stakeholders.
• Keep abreast of new developments/technology that could be utilised by the organisation to retain its competitive advantage.
• Always considers brand integrity throughout the UX process.
• Can identify all types of bugs and recommend fixes/improvements. Communicates with and delivers an efficient service to all internal and external stakeholders.
• Attends teams planning sessions.
• Assisting with the continual improvement of the design process incl. user testing.
• Contributes to our Design System and patterns in collaboration with other UI & UX professionals within the group.
• Mentoring/Coaching of less experienced members of the team.
• Define and execute a long-term UX research strategy that informs product roadmaps, business decisions and user experience improvements.
• Facilitate design thinking workshops within the organization to foster a culture of innovation and user-centric problem-solving.
• Close collaboration with UI Designers to define complex interactions, such as multi-step workflows, data visualizations, and adaptive user interfaces.
• Drive innovation initiatives, exploring emerging technologies and design trends to identify opportunities for enhancing user experiences.

Technical Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience of working within the UX industry.
• Master of Product Design and Prototyping tools – ie Figma.
• A strong understanding of the product deployment cycle and the dependencies and requirements at key development phases (e.g. Refinement, Design, Iteration, Development & Testing).
• Experience with Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite
• Experienced of using Apple and Windows based software/hardware.
• Have a strong understanding of CSS/HTML5 in order to advise on changes to developers.
• In depth knowledge of UI/UX design incl design patterns and best practices.
• A strong understanding of how both responsive/adaptive design is applied in both creative and development technologies.
• Relevant qualification or related experience in the Design Industry.
• Strong ability to demonstrate working within the UX Industry.
• Strong understanding of how to set up, analyse and present findings from user testing via different insights platforms.
• Demonstratable knowledge of the different types of user testing, their methodologies and when to use them.
