Job Description - Master Thesis Project

We are looking for a Master Thesis student that will be working from the site in Uppsala and is available to start this student work in the beginning of September 2024.

What you’ll do

  • Perform microbial fermentation and harvesting process steps for protein production

  • Scale-up from shake flasks to laboratory scale bioreactors

  • Perform downstream processes, for example, centrifuge and filtration

  • Plan and execute analytical methods, like SDS-PAGE and/or chromatography

Who you are

  • Master student in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biology or related field.

  • Any prior experience in microbial fermentation (like E. coli ) including batch and fed-batch processes.

  • Knowledge of protein production, downstream process and analytical methods will be considered an advantage.

  • Ability to individually plan and perform experiments but also to work in interdisciplinary teams.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Available to take on a 20 week master thesis project work during the autumn 2024.

  • Professional working proficiency in both Swedish and English is a requirement.
