Capture Energy, founded in 2023 and with 10 employees currently, aims to be a market leader in the Nordics in providing battery energy storage systems for energy flexibility services in the coming years, a market that is expected to have very high growth.

About The Role

In this role, you will be a key person within automation, digitalization and cyber security. You will have ownership of the architecture, development, and implementation of the software for the control system for our battery energy storage systems, as well as other systems we will introduce later. You will also participate in the commissioning of our battery systems, and take part in setting up requirements for the hardware we will us.

You will report to the CTO of the company, Henrik Lundgren. He has a PhD in Chemical Engineering/Lithium-ion Batteries with extensive experience in battery development both in the automotive industry and the stationary energy storage industry. Henrik bikes to work all seasons of the year and enjoys food and hiking in his free time.

Work assignments

• Programming of control, PLC, and HMI/Scada
• System, network configuration and Cyber Security
• Communication within automation systems and other industrial systems
• Testing, commissioning, and plant follow-up
• Integration of third-party services into control system
• Studies, technical specifications, planning, and cost assessments
• Occasional work travel to other Nordic countries

Key Responsibilities

• Design BESS control system

Skills and Qualifications

If you are to thrive and succeed as a Senior Automation Engineer at Capture Energy, you should like to work in a start-up environment that is highly dynamic with lots of opportunities to learn and challenge yourself. Being one of the first people to join the company, you will participate in defining the processes of how we work. As we are building up a team to drive our development, having good collaboration skills will be a success factor. Personal integrity and the ability to work independently and proactively will also be important to solving the tasks we face. By building automation systems for our battery energy storage systems, you will need to build up knowledge in both automation and electrical engineering. Having experience in industrial networks, including cyber security thereof is of high value for this role, as well as having experience in setting up cloud databases and cloud analysis platforms. We would like to see that you have an engineering degree in automation/electronics or equivalent. If you have relevant experience from projects in the energy industry, or battery industry this is a plus. Experience in building software at Beckhoff PLC is highly desired. It is important to us that we find employees with different backgrounds, interests, and talents to help us to build dynamic teams able to deal with the exciting challenges ahead. You must have good written and oral communication skills in English. Proficiency in other Nordic languages is a plus.
