Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Creation of measurement programs and protocols for confirmation of product dimensions.
- Development of validation methods and securing access to relevant measurement resources.
- Execution of process development engineering studies, including DOEs, to develop process window and confirm feasibility.
- Development of new leak test processes and technologies for new products.
- Definition of a process development plan for leak test technologies plotting the maturity of a process from concept to validation in prototyping.
- Definition of leak test process specifications describing critical process requirements, controls, allowable operating windows, and validation process.
- Working with Product development team to develop a ensure manufacturability in the field of leak test.
- Deployment of process solutions to enable delivery of prototypes, including characterisation and confirmation of prototype process solutions.
- Standardisation of process solutions and validation methods to ensure consistency across projects.
- Core contribution to FMEA activities to ensure completion.
- Identification of areas for competitive advantage and innovation for the welding process technology.
- Benchmarking of leak test technologies in the market.
- Build network with internal and external collaborators.
- Technical approval of process changes in production outside of agreed process window.
- Third line of production support for all processes.
Qualifications and experience
- MSc/MEng Manufacturing, Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience of process development in manufacturing engineering.
- Direct and hands on experience of leak test process development for new products.
- Ability to travel off site between 25-50% of the time dependent on project phase.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO9001 standards.
Specific skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process for battery module and pack solutions.
- Experience use of ATEQ leak test devices
