We now need to develop image reconstruction algorithms and mathematical models for image quality to be able to compare different concepts in computer simulations. The results will be used for designing the first prototypes, which will be evaluated in our own experimental setups and at synchrotron sources. A successful result of this research can have far-reaching positive effects on molecular imaging both clinically and for aiding drug development research. See our website .
