Area Tech Manager Product Creation in Product Tech

WHAT YOU’LL DO

At H&M Tech, this role shapes the technology direction across one of the company’s most business-critical areas: Product Creation. As a senior technology leadership role, it holds responsibility for influencing enterprise direction, leading through senior leaders, and driving transformation across platforms, vendors, data flows, and engineering organizations. 

Strategic & Delivery Leadership 

• Leading the delivery of digital product creation solutions, 3D design tools, and connected creation workflows, ensuring seamless integration across design, buying, and production. 
• Driving the implementation of scalable product data management capabilities, enabling accurate, timely, and automated product information across global teams and systems. 
• Translate tech strategy and business objectives into actionable plans and take overall accountability for RUN and Tech Operations within the area. 
• Oversee the delivery structure across products, services, and programs to ensure stable, scalable, and cost-efficient tech solutions. 
• Manage dependencies, resources, and capacity to enable effective roadmap execution and support business outcomes. 
• Drive adoption of secure, robust, and scalable technologies and promote continuous improvement across the area. 
• Partner with Area Business Manager and business counterparts to align priorities and synchronize delivery. 
• Contribute to portfolio planning to ensure strategic alignment with enterprise architecture and tech strategy. 

Financial Accountability 

• Own and manage the area’s tech budget, ensuring efficient and transparent allocation and spending. 
• Maintain budget planning and implementation in alignment with workforce plans. 
• Optimize resource utilization while upholding strong financial accountability. 

Architecture & Development 

• Ensure solution architecture aligns with target architecture and collaborate with the CTO Office on strategic direction. 
• Promote effective use of tools, methodologies, engineering standards, technical quality, operational resilience, and modern engineering practices. 

Operational Excellence 

• Oversee operational stability and performance, ensuring secure and resilient operations aligned with strategic goals. 
• Monitor and report technical KPIs such as uptime, compliance, and support. 
• Lead proactive risk management, including incident handling and mitigation planning. 
• Drive innovation, simplification, and reduction of technical debt. 
• Engage internal teams and external partners to support aligned and timely delivery. 

People & Culture 

• Lead and develop engineering talent, coaching leaders and enabling technical and delivery excellence. 
• Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and psychological safety. 
• Hold formal staff responsibility, including recruitment, contribution talks, and workforce planning aligned with broader tech strategy and capability needs. 

Stakeholder Engagement 

• Work closely with business stakeholders to coordinate cross-area dependencies and secure delivery of business outcomes. 
• Act as the primary technology contact within the area and manage relevant vendor and partner relationships.

In close collaboration with engineering, architecture, product, design, compliance, and business stakeholders, it shapes how the future product ecosystem evolves. The role also works across teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders to align direction, delivery, and long-term outcomes.

Brings extensive experience leading senior technology organizations in complex enterprise environments. Has a strong understanding of how data, processes, and technology capabilities connect across the full product lifecycle, and is comfortable shaping target architecture and driving modernization across a broad technology landscape. 

 

Creates clarity in complexity, thinks in systems rather than silos, and balances long-term strategic direction with operational reality. Brings strong understanding of enterprise architecture and delivery at scale, with the ability to drive outcomes across teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

This is a full-time position with the possibility to be based in one of our Tech locations, Stockholm or Bangalore.
